BOLAVEN PLATEAU 
Situated on the north east of Champassak province, the plateau covers parts of Salavan, Attapeu and Sekong provinces although there are more options for tourists visiting the plateau in Pakse. The plateau is fertile farmland specialising in coffee, tea, cardamom and fruit. It boasts stunning mountain scenery, old growth forests, bird life and fun river running. The plateau also houses a dozen mainly animist ethnic minorities, including Laven, Alak, Katou, Ta-Oy, Houne, Ngai and Suk communities. Accomodation on the plateau is limited, but Tad Lo waterfalls has a number of bungalows where you can enjoy trekking and elephant rides.
VANGVIENG
In the past, Vang Vieng which is located 156 km from the capital of Vientiane along road No. 13 north, road section between Vientiane and Luang Prabang, was called Muong Xong. Vang Vieng is surrounded with a magnificent view of mountains, trees, and flowers as well as some interesting historical and cultural sites with a unique tradition and culture.
VIENGXAI
The caverns of Vieng Xai, the City of Victory, were opened to the public in 1997. Located some 650 kilometers northeast of Vientiane, they were used by Pathet Lao during the Vietnam War to escape the extremely heavy USA bombing (in more than 500,000 sorties over two million tons of bombs were dropped).
NAMHA NBCA
Luang Namtha's Nam Ha National Biodiversity Conservation Area comprising 222,400 hectares of land ranging from the lowlands of the Luang Namtha Plain to 2,000 meter peaks of its northern highlands includes some of the most significant and largest contiguous wilderness areas in the Lao PDR.
PHONGSALY
It is bordering China and Vietnam. Phongsaly is in northern Laos where twenty-two groups of ethnic minorities are living, among, Hmong, Iko, Sila, Phunoi, kheu, Sila, Lolo,Hanyi, Phala, Oma, Thai Khao, Thai Lue, Phuan, Phai, Khamu, Henyi, Mien, Eupa.... Phongsaly has a cool weather all the years round.
ATTAPEU
Attapeu, the most southeastern tip province of Laos Province, is also the best known for the Bolaven Plateau, sharing borders with Sekong in the north, Champassack in the west, Vietnam in the East and Cambodia in the South. The Bolaven Plateau is covered in the Champassak section and easily accessed from Pakse, in Champassak province.
SI PHAN DON
i Phan Don, which means in Lao language Four Thousand Islands, is a scenic stretch of about 50 km along the Mekong river located just north of the Cambodian border where, during the rainy season, the river reaches a breadth of 14 km, the widest width of the Mekong along its 4.350 km journey from China to Vietnam. During the dry season the waters recede and leave behind hundreds if not thousand of islands and islets.
WAT PHOU CHAMPASAK
This UNESCO World Heritage Site is located at about one hour drive from Pakse where it is possible to hire a tuk-tuk or rent a car/minibus on a daily basis. Following Route 13, heading south, you will find a sign at Ban Lak Samseep and turn right for about 3 km until you reach the Mekong river at a very wide point. A ferry will take you across the river to Champasak town which is about 8 km from the site. If travelling by bus an overnight stay in Champasak is recommended. A number of small guesthouses are available.
SARAVAN
Saravan is located in the Southeastern Part of Lao P.D.R. where the culture is extremely different from the rest of the country. People in this province preserve their traditional culture as well as atmosphere.
CHAMPASSAK - PAKSE
Champassak, a small town located on the right or the Mekong river, shares a common border with Thailand. It is known as one of the three principals of the Lane Xang Empire. One can visit Wat Amath, a famous pagoda in which treasures dating back to stoner age are located: Wat Phu is a huge complex temple built in the Khmer style since 10th century.
